Support TPS to raise £25,000 on Buzzbnk

Thank you to all you Cheerleaders, Friends, Movers, Players and Shakers who have supported us so far on Buzzbnk! Your donations have taken us nearly 25% closer to our first milestone! Our ultimate goal is to raise £25,000 to increase the kitchen capacity, meet the growing demand of The People’s Kitchen and make the store more accessible to the less-abled.

Support The People's Supermarket to Crowdfund on Buzzbnk

Each penny you donate will allow us to install a new double drainer sink, replace our domestic oven with a double burner cooker and work surface, install a bread oven so that we can make our own bread and hold classes in bread making, install a lift and a toilet designed for the disabled. Donations start at £5, and every little bit gets us closer to our “milestone” levels – the amounts we need to achieve in order to keep the donated money and apply it towards our renovations. Through donation or sharing, support us to support you. Click on our Buzzbnk campaign page at: www.buzzbnk.org/tps.

The Man in Seat 61 – tonight!

This is an event going on round the corner, at SOAS on Russell Square, organised by one of our members, and open to the public. Mark Smith – better known as The Man in Seat 61 – is a travel writer and creator of the award-winning website seat61.com. This website is a goldmine for info on how to reach the far corners of the world – without flying. In this talk, he’ll be looking at why overland travel has grown (it’s all about the journey!) and giving an overview of some of the most rewarding journeys, including Europe by rail, USA coast-to-coast and the Trans-Siberean. It’s tonight (Thursday 26th January) at 7.30pm, room G2, SOAS Russell Square campus, and there are free drinks. The talk lasts about an hour – contact Elliot on 07986 882 690 for more info.
