Knowing & Growing 2011: The rise annual conference

Taking place on the 1st November in Bristol, and run in collaboration with UWE and the Social Enterprise Mark Company, Knowing and Growing 2011 is a one-day exhibition dedicated to helping innovative social enterprises and charities to compete, flourish and grow.

This unique one-day event will bring together around 300 innovative social enterprises from across the South West.

The event will include:

• Keynote speaker: Gordon Morris, Managing Director, Age UK Enterprises
• Workshops by expert providers e.g. protecting your brand, impact marketing, developing a licence agreement, preparing to franchise, and many more
• Case studies – hear social entrepreneurs who are leading and innovating in their field talk about their experiences, triumphs, challenges and winning ways
• 1-2-1 advice from professional advisors and intellectual property experts from many important disciplines including finance, accounting, legal, purchasing, marketing, planning
• Free membership in the Knowing and Growing Online Community

10.15 – 11.15 Keynote Speaker: Gordon Morris, Managing Director, Age UK Enterprises
11.15 – 12.15 Workshop 1: Managing People – Jan Golding, Founder of Roots HR CIC
12.15 – 13.00 Lunch
13.00 – 14.00 Workshop 2: Purchasing and the Supply Chain – Martin Davies, Managing Director, Pluss
14.00 – 15.00 Workshop 3: Marketing – Louise Gardner, Head of Communications and Development, Watershed, Bristol
15.00 – 16.00 Drop-in sessions (clinics), tea and coffee

Venue

University of the West of England (UWE) Exhibition & Conference Centre This magnificent centre is located half a mile from the M32 motorway, adjacent to the University’s Frenchay Campus. Access to the centre is via the North Entrance.

Registration

• £30 for entry to the event which includes basic exhibition space.
• Special offer! Free entry to the first 50 UWE staff and students who register!
• Special offer! A free year of membership to rise for the first 25 paying delegates! (First 25 social enterprises or SESAs receive a 1 year rise membership, other organisations receive £50 contribution towards rise membership.)
• Special offer! rise Members – first 120 places free to current members!
