You can find other “Market with Meaning” but you definitely want to see “Profit with Purpose”.

Dear Friends,

Last month we gathered with over 360 leaders at SVN’s Fall Conference in Long Branch, New Jersey. It was our largest, most diverse SVN gathering ever – and a tremendous opportunity to connect, learn, collaborate and take action. To see photos, blogs and videos of our conference speakers, including Van Jones, Otto Scharmer, Katrina vanden Heuvel, Jonathan Rose, and the SVN Innovation Award winners, please visit our website here. And remember to mark your calendars for our 2011 conferences:

  • SVN Spring Gathering – April 7 – 10, 2011, Stevenson, Washington
  • SVN Fall Gathering – October 27 – 30, 2011, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

We’ll be co-hosting workshops and events with Esalen and TEDx in 2011, so stay tuned for details.

Many thanks to Debra Jack and Jay Porter for hosting a local gathering at Edleman’s San Francisco office last week, and to RSF Social Finance for sponsoring over a dozen SVN local gatherings this past year.

I hope you’re enjoying the latest book in the SVN Series, “Street Smart Sustainabilty: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Profitably Greening Your Organization’s DNA.” Authors David Mager and Joe Sibilia share great advice on how to design products to be sustainable, green your facilities, use renewable energy, minimize your carbon footprint, find green vendors, reduce harmful emissions, and recycle waste products. The book is filled with real-world examples from SVN members, and provides simple tools so you can make continuous, cost-effective improvements in your sustainability practices.

On behalf of the SVN staff, I want to thank you for all you do to create a just, humane and sustainable world. You inspire us every day, and we’re grateful to have you in our community.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving next week.
